Labor of Love
It is hard for us to think of Christmas without singing through the songs of Andrew Peterson’s Christmas Concert – Behold The Lamb of God. Much like the Jesus Storybook Bible, it takes us through the Old Testament, but for him, it starts with the Exodus story. But he weaves the stories of the OT and the prophets together to point us to Christ’s coming. It is simply a beautiful concert.
But there is simply no song on the album more impactful than Labor of Love. It is sung about Mary and he always has a woman sing it at every concert. It simply pulls on your heartstrings because of the deeply human connection, but also because of its reverence for the moment of Jesus’ birth. The images in the song are stark, but the song is more beautiful because they are. We hope you are affected by it as we have been.
